Free Live Radio This Weekend

Last year’s live "Fayetteville Roots Festival edition" of Ozarks at Large was so much fun that we've decided to do it again. We're proud to officially kick off the festival—celebrating local food, music and culture—on Friday with a live broadcast at noon from the Walker Community Room at the Fayetteville Public Library. We'll have live music and lively conversation with some local brewers about their participation in the festival, plus Becca Martin Brown of Northwest Arkansas Newspapers will give us the dirt on What’s Up in the area besides the Roots Festival. Although the live portion of the program will end at 1 p.m., the show will continue until 2 o’clock, at which point the festival continues at Walton Arts Center.

“But wait, there’s more.”
KUAF and the Fayetteville Public Library will also host a live hour-long broadcast of Tales From the South as part of the Roots Festival Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. TFTS usually tapes their show in front of a live audience, but this will be the first time the show has ever been broadcast live. Three writers from Northwest Arkansas will present their stories, and Roots Fest musician Mary Gauthier will perform musical interludes during the show.
In addition to the live broadcast to KUAF listeners, the program will be taped for an upcoming episode of Tales From the South. This free show will also be held in the library’s Walker Community Room, and doors will open at about 2:15.
