Music Made in NWA Gets National Recognition

-by Timothy Dennis

Last week, American Public Media's Performance Today featured the Artosphere Festival Orchestra with a performance that was recorded at Crystal Bridges in Bentonville. If you missed that episode, you can listen to it on the Performance Today website

But both classical and folk music made in Northwest Arkansas have garnered attention from national public media in the past week. NPR Music featured part of Elephant Revival's performance at this year's Fayetteville Roots Festival.

If you didn't get a chance to see the nationally touring band when they visited Fayetteville, here's a video from their set on the Walton Arts Center stage.

The performance was recorded by Folk Alley, who streamed much of the 2012 Roots Festival live, which is still archived on their site.
