Cooking with Serena
Fayetteville teen Serena Caffrey is an independent social entrepreneur. And one of her passion's is green cooking. On Saturday September 11th at Nibbles Academy she'll teach young people how to prepare easy from scratch meals, with fresh, locally grown food. Jacqueline Froelich takes us to her kitchen.

County Fair
The 153rd Washington County Fair begins today with rides, farm animals and food. Ozarks at Large's Antoinette Grajeda chatted with a volunteer about what it's like to judge the food exhibitions.

Josh Fox
Tap water contaminated by natural gas drilling bursts into flames.<br />Photo Credit: Josh FoxThe HBO documentary "Gasland," is a critique about America's burgeoning shale gas drilling industry. The film premiered at Sundance, last January, where it took the 2010 Sundance Special Jury Prize. Since then, writer and director Josh Fox has hosted public viewings of his film in places where shale gas drilling is occurring--including Arkansas. Jacqueline Froelich met with him during his visit to Fayetteville, August 19th, and brings us his story.

Radine Nehring
Radine Nehring uses real Arkansas places for murder mysteries. Radine Nehring's latest mystery, "A Journey to Die For" takes place in Springdale, Van Buren and along a train between the two cities. She's also set her mysteries in Hot Springs and along the Buffalo River.

When wildlife essayist Joe Neal goes on vacation, he packs those things too, as well as his microphone and digital recorder--just so we listeners can tag along.
Joe Neal is author of "Birds in Northwestern Arkansas: An Ecological Perspective" available at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville. He is also coauthor, with Douglas James, of “Arkansas Birds,” published by the University of Arkansas press.

Caroll County Courthouses

For more than 127 years, Carroll County business has been conducted, as a convenience to citizens, in two courthouses, on either side of the Kings River. But after a county circuit court judge ordered to consolidate the district this year, the Arkansas Supreme Court decided to overturn it. Jacqueline Froelich reports.
