The Arkansas Arts Center's art mobile is over 50 years old and one of few that remains in the nation. This week, it visits two area junior highs with its 2013-2014 exhibit "The Art of the Story."Republican gubernatorial hopeful Asa Hutchinson yesterday announced his plans to cut taxes for middle-income Arkansans, though some disagree about the potential budget impact the plan would have for the state. Fayetteville voters yesterday approved extending the current HMR tax to help fund development of a regional park and to help fund expansion of the Walton Arts Center, which still has quite a bit of fundraising left to do. Bentonville breaks ground on its community center, and two Springdale parks will soon have new bleachers for baseball and softball fields.

Ahead on this edition of Ozarks, those amphibious harbingers of spring--frogs and toads--are being counted all over Arkansas. We'll find out how the frog watch works, and if the number of frogs in the state is diminishing. And, the AMP is being prepared for its first show. The seats aren't in yet, but work is going on almost around-the-clock to meet a June 1 completion date.
Becca Martin Brown, of Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, says the upcoming Norman Rockwell exhibit is worth advance notice.
The game Monster Moos is being developed in Springdale. The creators hope it will soon be in homes all across the country.

The Red Carpet Awards Season is upon us, but so is the Green Carpet Season--the 137th annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York City February 11th and 12th. And this year? Spike, an Ozarks-born and bred Russell Terrier from Frayed Knot Farm will face the pupparazzi. Jacqueline Froelich takes us to meet him.
