Fayetteville voters yesterday approved extending the current HMR tax to help fund development of a regional park and to help fund expansion of the Walton Arts Center, which still has quite a bit of fundraising left to do. Bentonville breaks ground on its community center, and two Springdale parks will soon have new bleachers for baseball and softball fields.

Ahead on this edition of Weekend Ozarks, we meet a cartographer on the Ozark Highlands Trail, just in time for Spring hiking season. Plus, we take a Sunday drive to the roadside cafe, The Valley Inn, for a slice of their famous pie.
This weekend the pastor of His Way Fellowship in Gateway will take to the roof of a nearby store in an effort to collect food and money for those in need.
Yesterday, an exercise on the University of Arkansas campus didn't turn out exactly as planned, but was still a learning experience.
