Governor Mike Beebe says he is confident the state legislature will vote not to hold a special election to fill the recently vacated Lieutenant Governor's office. The special election in Benton County goes forward despite ice and snow. And the unemployment rate dropped during December for the northwest Arkansas and Fort Smith metro areas.
